Abena B.

​Meet Abena, the visionary founder of Relish Africa. A Ghanaian American, Abena's culinary journey began with the flavors of the Ashanti people, fostering a deep love for Africa's diverse cuisines. Her adventurous spirit took her backpacking through over 15 African nations, creating a tapestry of experiences that shaped her mission. Trained as a nurse, Abena now views her work as healing communities through the universal language of food. Balancing her life between Africa and the U.S., she spends half the year traveling the continent and the diaspora, curating unique culinary tours that celebrate the richness of African gastronomy.

Meet Pape, our charismatic Senegalese tour guide and master tailor. With a passion for stitching stories and fabrics, Pape has seamlessly woven his expertise in both tailoring and Senegal's rich culture. Having lived internationally perfecting his craft, Pape, along with his wife, graciously hosts the family lunch tour, offering a warm embrace of Senegalese hospitality. As the guide for our street food tour in Dakar, Pape's keen eye for detail extends beyond fabrics to the intricate flavors of Senegal's cuisine.
